As Nicholas was approaching the 6th month I had read that he would be ready to sit up. I also read that you could use your nursing pillow to "train him." And, although my attempts to teach him to roll over were a joke, I gave it a try. See the pictures below...he was really getting the hang of it. :O)

Zoo Trip
As seen in an earlier post we have zoo passes. The first time we went Nicholas pretty much slept the whole time. He woke up once and we took some pictures. This time he was awake and alert for most of the trip! He LOVED being in the front back and watching all the people AND animals! :O) The most hilarious part of the trip was when we were watching a show and we climbed to the very top of the grandstand to find some shade. We were up there about 15 minutes when Nicholas had a huge blowout, basically poop everywhere. So we knew we had to trek all the back down the stairs to our stroller to clean him up when the guy says "please don't walk around right now, especially you young children becuase we are bringing out the cheetah." So we had to pace for several minutes and then sneak him and his stinky diaper down the side steps. I got him to his stroller and fully undressed just in time for the show to let out. So, everyone who went to that show got a naked poopy baby show too! :O)

Being at the zoo all day is fun but it can really wipe you out!

5 months old
What's happening in the 5th month? Nicholas smiles and laughs all the time. People stop us on the street to marvel at his awesome, much debated hair do. I often take votes as to whether or not we should cut it. For now we aren't cutting it, but we may soon. Big News? Nicholas finally rolled over the day before his 5 month birthday! I was soo excited I screamed! :O) He also has tried to start sucking his thumb, which Dad and I are trying to discourage. You can see it above in the second picture.
