New Years Eve

Nick had his first "date" on New Years Eve. (ha ha) We went over to a friend's house and their daughter was a big hit with Nick. Here he is trying to figure her out.
Then he started making the first move...

He woke up, checked it out and promptly went right back to sleep. :O)

This is his pic with Santa this year. It was an interesting experience, Nick wasn't so sure, and Santa was being all business. He wasn't so Santa-like in our opinion. The lady afterward asked for our feedback and we were honest. We ended up getting our picture for free but we have to call headquarters to let them know. I ended up talking to a woman that sounded like she had just smoked a pack of cigs and had worked there 100 years. She told me that everyone wants "real beards" but they are much grumpier than "fake beards." FYI

Our Christmas Picture 2008

I have no problem admitting that we have the cutest, sweetest and most loving baby. He is amazing!



Jenn did our Christmas pictures this year, she did such an amazing job! We couldn't believe when he did this. She just said put your face next to his face and he reached around and put his arms up. Too Cute!

Nick's first signs!!

Nick signed "all done" today and yesterday. I wasn't sure yesterday but I he did it again today! It was the signal to get out of his high chair!! So exciting! The other day he seemed to sign milk while he was nursing, but he could have been waving hello to me! I am not sure yet, but either way it's pretty cool!

Summing up Summer

Well Summer is over. :O( I can't believe how fast the summer flew by! We had a great time though and I will cherish every moment. Since I am super behind on the blog I decided to go through our pics and pull out a few to catch you up. Looking back even I was shocked at how much as gone on in just a few short months. At the beginning of the summer Nick started pulling himself up and crawling within a few weeks of each other. Here he was showing off on his 8 month birthday.



Here's our happy little family a few days after our 4 year wedding anniversary. Time flies!

We took a family trip to the zoo with Hugo, Angie and Alex, we had a great time!

Over the summer one of the biggest things I did was change schools. I will miss my wonderful Lafayette family, including the staff, my students and their families. Here we are over the summer having our first (of many, I hope) Room 10 Reunions.
The next big thing over the summer was when Nick went from pulling up to cruising along the furniture.
Nick loves his new found freedom!
Food has become a lot more fun! Here we are the first night he ate cheerios. He still really loves them but luckily he loves lots of things now, including broccoli!
He always has to inspect his food first before eating it. :O)
We also had haircut number 2! His hair is like mommy's and it grows like a weed! The pic below is the "after." The next few are the actual haircut, in the kiddy hair salon.


Here he is showing off how much he like to eat now. He does prefer to do it himself, he still dislikes have someone shove a spoon in his face. :O)
A big event that happened at the end of the summer was his cousin Alex turned one! Here's daddy and Nick chilling out at the party.

Here's Nick just a day before I went back to work. He is now standing up and letting go. He can stand for long periods without holding on. He even took 2 steps when we were at Grandma and Grandpa's house. My mom and dad, Raz and I all saw him, it was pretty exciting. I am sure we ensured that he would never do it again when we all started screaming!

Doesn't it kind of look like he knows he's adorable? Or is it just me?

ps if you look closely you can see his tooth popping up. He had just one at this point but he has both bottom teeth now! Click on any of the pics to see them full size.
